Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam Review

Topics Covered

Hey there BKFam,

We hope you have already read the ๐Ÿ‘‰ simplified Korean skincare adaptation which we made for you.

Today we are going to review Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam from one of the best Korean skincare brands available internationally which is โ€ฆ Innisfree.

They claim they are a 100% natural beauty brand from Korea, 'Innisfree' is dedicated to sharing the clean and pure energy of nature to give you premium beauty and skincare products. Even if not 100% natural, all the products I came across were free from Paraben and Sulfate. And mostly they keep minimum ingredients which focus on the purpose of the product.

I think this brand is still not getting the hype it deserves outside Korea !! Anyways we tried their cleansing foam from the Jeju Volcanic๐ŸŒ‹range and here are our thoughts about the product.

What Innisfree Claims

Introducing Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam EX - a pore-clearing foam, formulated with Jeju volcanic clusters to help eliminate excess oil and deeply cleanse the pores.

Key Features

Powerful sebum absorption of Jeju Volcanic Cluster Sphere: Powerfully clears pore-clogging excess sebum and impurities leaving fresh and clear skin.

Refreshing finish for oily, combination skin: Deeply cleanses clogged pores and impurities, leaving the skin super-refreshed.

Daily pore care with dense, micro-bubbles: Cleansing foam containing volcanic clusters lathers up into abundant and dense bubbles to powerfully and finely cleanse excess sebum and impurities leaving skin clear and smooth.

How to Use

A small pea-sized amount is more than enough for deeply cleaning the face. Damp your face and hands, take a pea-sized amount of cleansing foam on your hands, and lather it up. Gently apply it on the face and neck and give a gentle massage all over the face. The tiny Volcanic ash particles will act as a gentle exfoliator without damaging the skin barrier.

Ingredients

Water / Aqua / Eau, Glycerin, Myristic Acid, Stearic Acid, Peg-32, Potassium Hydroxide, Butylene Glycol, Palmitic Acid, Lauric Acid, Hydrated Silica, Lauryl Glucoside, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance / Parfum, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Polyquaternium-7, Sodium Chloride, Mannitol, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Disodium Edta, Sodium Benzoate, Volcanic Ash, Silica, Lactic Acid

Packaging and Pricing

The 150 mL product comes in a nice sturdy plastic tube package with a flip open cap. The light brown clay-like color is catchy because it is the Jeju Volcanic Line. The package is travel friendly. I paid 650 Rs for the 150 mL product from Nykaa.

Formula

As for the formula, it is creamy, white in color and you can see small brown particles which are a key feature mentioned as the Jeju Volcanic Cluster Sphere. It creates a very rich creamy lather rather than soap-like bubbles and has a very mild fragrance which I assure you, donโ€™t irritate at all.

My experience

Innisfree was the first-ever Korean skincare brand I tried and I was really impressed. The masks from Innisfree are so effective and show instant results !!.

So I had high hopes when I purchased Cleanser-Toner-Moisturizer from Innisfree. Toner and Moisture were from their Blueberry range. More on that later....

So for a foaming cleanser, it does itโ€™s work pretty neatly. This works it's best for Oily or Combination Skin because it pulls out all the gunk and excess oil from the skin and gives an instant glow but the presence of multiple comedogenic ingredients in the product is ๐Ÿ™„ concerning.

The product doesnโ€™t strip out all the moisture from your skin since it contains Glycerin and Lactic acid. Though If you have extremely dry skin this is not for you. This cleanser contains Lauric Acid which is an anti-acne ingredient and Lactic acid is known for its Anti-Aging properties.

This is all good, but let me warn you if you have sensitive skin Lactic acid might irritate your skin. Also, the product is not Fungal Acne aka Malassezia safe !!
Fungal Acne is not really Acne or Pimples, they look like small bumps on the skin. I hope they make the products Fungal Acne Safe and suitable for sensitive skin in upcoming ranges ๐Ÿคž

Pros

  • A great formula for Oily to Combination Skin.
  • Works as a gentle daily cleanser and mild exfoliant.
  • Deeply cleanses the pores and impurities without stripping out all the moisture.
  • Small quantity is enough so the product will last long.
  • Paraben, Alcohol, Sulfate, Silicone Free. ๐Ÿ‘
  • Visible difference in removing blackheads and whiteheads from cheeks.

Cons

  • Might Cause Fungal Acne.
  • Myristic Acid, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Lauric Acid, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Lactic Acid are comedogenic hence can block pores.
  • Not suitable for extremely dry and sensitive or acne-prone skin.

So will I purchase this product again? No
